Novo Mesto (pronounced [ˈnɔ̀ːʋɔ ˈmèːstɔ] ; Slovene: Novo mesto; also known by alternative names) is the seventh-largest city of Slovenia. It is the economic and cultural centre of the traditional region of Lower Carniola (southeastern Slovenia) and the seat of the City Municipality of Novo Mesto.
