Arta (Greek: Άρτα) is a city in northwestern Greece and the capital of the regional unit of Arta, in the region of Epirus. The city was known in antiquity as Ambracia (Ancient Greek: Ἀμβρακία) and had served as the capital of ancient Epirus.
