Haltern am See (German pronunciation: [ˈhaltɐn ʔam ˈzeː], lit. 'Haltern on the lake'; before December 2001 only Haltern) is a medium-sized town in the northern part of the district of Recklinghausen in the Regierungsbezirk Münster in North Rhine-Westphalia.
