Griesheim (German pronunciation: [ˈɡʁiːsˌhaɪm] ) is the largest town of the district Darmstadt-Dieburg in southern Hesse, Germany. It has just over 28,000 inhabitants as of December 2023. Griesheim is known for being the location of the first German airfield, which was founded in 1908.
