Pickering (2021 census population: 99,186) is a city located in Southern Ontario, Canada, immediately east of Toronto in the Regional Municipality of Durham. It is named after the town of Pickering, in North Yorkshire. Beginning in the 1770s, the area was settled by primarily British colonists.
